Commonly known as "laughter lines", these lines initially only show when smiling, but with time and sun exposure they become more permanent, even when you are not smiling.
However, both the ageing process and repetitive facial expressions can lead to these smile lines becoming deep creases, more prominent, or not disappearing at rest — which can leave you looking tired and older beyonder your years.
Anti-wrinkle injections using Botox or Azzalure can help to relax the muscles that cause these crow's feet (laughter lines), resulting in a smoother, more youthful and refreshed appearance.
If your crow's feet lines are not there all the time, Botox/Azzalure injections can also be used to help prevent these lines from developing, before they become more noticable in the first place!
You should start to see/feel the effects of Botox and Azzalure beside your eyes after 3 to 5 days, but it typically takes up to 2 weeks before the full effect is achieved. A free review appointment is usually made at this time, where the effect can be fully assessed by Doctor Alex, and topped-up if necessary. Men typically need a higher dose of Botox than women.
Botox and Azzalure injections to the crow's feet region usually last between 3 to 6 months before the next treatment is required.
No. You may feel a slight pinprick sensation as the skin next to the outside of your eyes is injected. Doctor Alex can also apply special numbing cream beforehand if you are worried about this.
More or less immediate recovery — it can be performed in your lunch break! As a needle is used for the injection, there is a chance you may get a small amount of bleeding/bruising, which usually resolves after a few days.
Doctor Alex has anti-ageing non-surgical cosmetic clinics in both Manchester City Centre and Bolton. Visit the Locations page for more details.
