This is when too much upper gum is visible on smiling. Gummy smile treatment injections can help improve the appearance.

How does Botox help?

Injections using Botox or Azzalure can help to reduce the amount of gum visible when you smile by reducing the power of the muscle in your top lip.

When will I see the effects?

You should start to see/feel the effects of Botox and Azzalure in your upper lip after 3 to 5 days, but it typically takes up to 2 weeks before the full effect is achieved. A free review appointment is usually made at this time, where the effect can be fully assessed by Doctor Alex, and topped-up if necessary.

How long does the gummy smile treatment last for?

Botox and Azzalure injections for gummy smiles usually last between 3 to 6 months before the next treatment is required.

Is it painful?

No. You may feel a slight pinprick sensation as the area is injected. Doctor Alex can also apply special numbing cream beforehand if you are worried about this.

How long is recovery time?

More or less immediate recovery — it can be performed in your lunch break! As a needle is used for the injection, there is a chance you may get a small amount of bleeding/bruising, which usually resolves after a few days.
