Hyperhidrosis (excess sweating) treatment

What is hyperhidrosis?

Sweat too much under your armpits? Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for this condition. Botox injections under your armpits can help to significantly reduce the excess sweat produced.

How does Botox help?

Injections using Botox or Azzalure can help to reduce the amount of sweat produced under your arms by blocking the nerve signals to the sweat glands.

When will I see the effects?

You should start to see/feel the effects of Botox and Azzalure on your neck after 3 to 5 days, but it typically takes up to 2 weeks before the full effect is achieved. A free review appointment is usually made at this time, where the effect can be fully assessed by Doctor Alex, and topped-up if necessary.

How long does hyperhidrosis treatment last for?

Botox and Azzalure injections to the armpits usually last between 3 to 6 months before the next treatment is required.

Is it painful?

No. You may feel a slight pinprick sensation as the area is injected. Doctor Alex can also apply special numbing cream beforehand if you are worried about this.

How long is recovery time?

More or less immediate recovery — it can be performed in your lunch break! As a needle is used for the injection, there is a chance you may get a small amount of bleeding/bruising, which usually resolves after a few days.

Where are your cosmetic clinics?

Doctor Alex has anti-ageing non-surgical cosmetic clinics in both Manchester City Centre and Bolton. Visit the Locations page for full list of treatments.

How much does hyperhidrosis (excess sweating) treatment cost?

Treatment using Botox costs £450 (special offer, reduced from £550). Please see the price list for full list of treatments.
