Smoker's/lip lines treatment

What are smoker's lines or lipstick lines?

Smoker's lines or lipstick lines appear as fine lines coming from the lips, and are worse when the mouth is puckered. Can be combined with dermal fillers.
However, both the ageing process and repetitive facial expressions can lead to these frown lines becoming deep creases, more prominent, or not disappearing at rest — which can leave you looking permanently angry, stern or tired, even when you're not!

How does Botox help?

Anti-wrinkle injections using Botox or Azzalure can help to relax the muscles that cause these smoker's lines or lipstick lines, resulting in a smoother, more youthful and refreshed appearance.

When will I see the effects?

You should start to see/feel the effects of Botox and Azzalure around your lips after 3 to 5 days, but it typically takes up to 2 weeks before the full effect is achieved. A free review appointment is usually made at this time, where the effect can be fully assessed by Doctor Alex, and topped-up if necessary.

How long does the lipstick line anti-wrinkle treatment last for?

Botox and Azzalure injections to the bunny lines usually last between 3 to 6 months before the next treatment is required.

Is it painful?

No. You may feel a slight pinprick sensation as the area on your lip is injected. Doctor Alex can also apply special numbing cream beforehand if you are worried about this.

How long is recovery time?

More or less immediate recovery — it can be performed in your lunch break! As a needle is used for the injection, there is a chance you may get a small amount of bleeding/bruising, which usually resolves after a few days.

Where are your cosmetic clinics?

Doctor Alex has anti-ageing non-surgical cosmetic clinics in both Manchester City Centre and Bolton. Visit the Locations page for more details.

How much does smoker's/lip lines treatment cost?

Treatment using Botox costs £180 (special offer, reduced from £220). Please see the price list for full list of treatments.
