What are cheekbone enhancing/augmenting fillers?

How does dermal filler (Juvederm) help?

With ageing, weight loss, or those who lack cheekbone definition, dermal filler can be used to augment and enhance the cheekbones by adding or restoring lost volume. As the cheekbones effectively support the rest of the face, filler to the cheeks can also help to lift and define other areas, reducing ageing shadows that can appear in your mid-face.
Cheek filler can also be used to correct facial asymmetry, such as when one side of the face appears higher/lower, more defined, or lacking in volume.

When will I see the effects?

Rejuvenation results from dermal filler in the cheeks and cheekbones are seen instantly! There may be a slightly "fuller" appearance immediately after injection of the filler due to natural swelling, which resolves after a few days.

How long does cheek filler treatment last for?

Filler in the cheekbone region can last 6 to 24 months. The dermal filler Doctor Alex uses (Juvederm) is a non-permanent treatment, and can also be reversed/dissolved if needed.

Is it painful?

No. You may feel a pinprick sensation as the skin over the cheekbone area is injected. Doctor Alex can also apply special numbing cream beforehand if you are worried about this.

How long is recovery time?

More or less immediate recovery — it can be performed in your lunch break! As a needle is used to inject dermal filler to the cheek region, there is a chance you may get a small amount of bleeding/bruising, which usually resolves after a few days.
