Jawline definition & contouring

What is jawline definition and contour enhancement?

Dermal filler to the jawline can help redefine and contour a sagging or lax jawline by restoring volume. In men, dermal filler can also be used to create a more masculine jawline.

How does dermal filler (Juvederm) help?

Dermal filler can help to enhance, contour and define a weak or receding jawline. It can also be used to help correct any asymmetry in the jawline you may have. This can be due to genetic factors, or can be due to the ageing process as structural support in the jawline is lost.
It used to be that surgery was the only way to enhance your jawline, but now using dermal filler, you can achieve a non-surgical enhancement of your jawline in your lunchbreak!
Dermal filler can be used in a variety of ways to sculpt and shape your jawline. For example, men often suit a strong, chiseled and defined jawline; whilst in women jawline filler can be used to restore volume and reducing jaw sagging. In both men and women, some people may notice one side of the jaw is a different size/shape than the other (asymmetrical). Dermal filler to the jawline can also help to correct this.

When will I see the effects?

Rejuvenation results from dermal filler to the jawline are seen instantly! There may be a slightly "fuller" appearance immediately after injection of the filler due to natural swelling, which resolves after a few days.

How long does jawline contouring treatment last for?

Filler to enhance the jawline region can last 6 to 18 months. The dermal filler Doctor Alex uses (Juvederm) is a non-permanent treatment, and can also be reversed/dissolved if needed.

Is it painful?

No. You may feel a pinprick sensation as the skin near your chin and jawline is injected. Doctor Alex can apply special numbing cream beforehand if you are worried about this. An advanced micro-cannula technique can also be used to help minimise any discomfort.

How long is recovery time?

More or less immediate recovery — it can be performed in your lunch break! As a needle is used to inject dermal filler into the jawline, there is a chance you may get a small amount of bleeding/bruising, which usually resolves after a few days. Doctor Alex can also use special micro-cannulas to inject the filler, which can also reduce the risk of bruising.
