EMSELLA

revolutionary fully clothed, non-invasive urinary incontinence treatment

A 95% satisfaction rating speaks for itself! Just sit on the "Kegel Throne" fully clothed to tighten the pelvic floor & reduce leaks!

What is EMSELLA?

EMSELLA is a totally non-invasive, needle-free procedure to help women of any age with urinary incontinence. There's no intrusive intimate examination, speculums, vaginal "probes" or lasers inserted, and you remain fully clothed for the treatment!

Embarrassing leaks when you laugh, cough, sneeze or exercise?

Over 200 million people worldwide are affected by incontinence. In women, urinary incontinence can be a result of weak or stretched pelvic floor muscles, commonly due to childbirth, menopause or general ageing. It can start early, with 10% of women aged 19–30 suffering from wee leakage. EMSELLA is a revolutionary treatment that can improve female incontinence by using High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology built into a uniquely designed treatment chair to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.

Fed up of having to use incontinence pads or emergency tissues?

As well as the inconvenience of having to use urinary incontinence pads (or tissue paper if caught out!), there is a financial cost associated with this, estimated on average to be between £400 and £1000 (depending on brand of pad used) per person per year. EMSELLA has been found to reduce the use of pads by up to 75% – not only is this more freeing physically, with the extra confidence it provides you, but over time you will actually recoup the costs of treatment through a reduction in pad use.

Why should your life be dictated by having to find a toilet in a hurry?

It's time to take back control of both your pelvic floor and your life with EMSELLA! Start enjoying going out with friends instead of stressing about where the nearest loo is or worrying about leaking in public.

All it takes is 30 minutes sat on a chair to get your confidence back

EMSELLA is often referred to as the "Kegel Throne", and with good reason! After just six 30 minute sessions you'll have done over 67,000 supramaximal strength kegels!! This can help tighten the seal around the bladder, reducing unwanted leakages.

EMSELLA FAQs:

What is EMSELLA?

BTL EMSELLA represents a new category of technology that provides a non-invasive treatment for pelvic floor muscles in incontinence and intimate discomfort.

What can EMSELLA treat?

Firstly, BTL EMSELLA helps patients to restore the control of their bladder, pelvic floor muscles and eliminate incontinence or any kind of intimate discomfort. Secondly, BTL EMSELLA is a truly non-invasive procedure where patients remain fully clothed.

How does EMSELLA work?

Pelvic floor muscles play an important role in supporting both the pelvic organs and bladder control. The pelvic floor muscles effectively assist in creating a better seal around the bladder – like a tap turning off running water. If these muscles are weakened, then urinary incontinence can occur because the seal is incomplete or ineffective – kind of like when you have a leaking tap that still leaks no matter how much you turn it to the off position.
There are also several different types of urinary incontinence:

  • Stress incontinence is the most common, especially in women, as it is often caused by stretching or weakening of the pelvic floor muscles by childbirth, ageing or the menopause. In these cases, when stress or pressure is put on the weakened pelvic floor muscles, urine can leak out. Examples of stress incontinence are when you cough, sneeze, laugh, run, jump, trampoline, stand up, perform exercise or yoga, or lift something heavy, and you have an accidental leak of wee.
  • Urge incontinence is the sudden, intense urge to urinate frequently, and you cannot delay going to the toilet. With this type, you may also unintentionally pass urine during intercourse, particularly at orgasm. You may also find yourself getting poor sleep at night because you keep having to get up to go multiple times.
  • Mixed incontinence is a combination of both the above. For example, you may leak urine if you cough or sneeze, and also experience very intense urges to pass urine.
The EMSELLA chair uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to stimulate, tighten, and retrain the pelvic floor muscles and treat stress, urge and mixed incontinence.
HIFEM induces supramaximal contractions, which are muscle contractions far stronger than anything normally humanly possible. This means you are working 100% of your muscle, 100% of the time...multiplied by 67,000! This also causes a change to the "muscle memory" of the pelvic floor, and retrains them to work more effecitvely.

By tightening and increasing the strength of the pelvic floor muscles, this helps to create a better seal around the bladder, reducing unwanted leaks. Patients report a 95% satisfaction rate, 75% reduction in pad use, and 85% improvement in overall intimate satisfaction. You stay fully clothed throughout, and there is zero downtime.
It's the same techonnology as found in the award winning EMSCULPT, and you can actually combine this with an EMSCULPT treatment for the ultimate core tightening combo.

How does it compare with other treatments?

BTL EMSELLA is the only procedure that targets pelvic floor muscles and causes deep pelvic floor stimulation because of HIFEM technology. All other procedures such as intravaginal electrostimulation have a risk of burns and lack the effect as the electrical current treats tissue only superficially, not even mentioning the need to insert the disposable vaginal probe. Comparing to Kegels, patients are not able to properly contract pelvic floor muscles, build the routine to do Kegels at least 3x per day and do them in hundreds of repetitions to see some results.

Who is suitable for EMSELLA?

EMSELLA is a great option for women of any age who desire solution for urinary incontinence, recovery after childbirth, and improvement in the quality of their intimate life. EMSELLA can also treat men, as this the treatment may help with erectile dysfunction, male urinary incontinence, and create stronger orgasms.

Is EMSELLA safe?

EMSELLA is FDA cleared, medical CE-marked, and represents the first innovative technology that has shown in multiple studies to treat incontinence and intimate discomfort. When you come in for a consultation, the doctor will cover how BTL EMSELLA works and discuss the unique safety profile in detail. EMSELLA is not only non-invasive, but completely non-thermal, non-ionizing, and non-radiating.

Is EMSELLA painful?

No. One of the best things about EMSELLA is that patients say it is completely painless —the procedure feels like an intense pelvic floor workout. You can sit on the EMSELLA chair and relax reading a magazine during the treatment. During your consultation, our staff will be more than happy to let you experience the unrivaled comfort of the procedure.

Is there any downtime or preparation required?

No. Compared to other procedures, there is absolutely no downtime with EMSELLA. You can get back to any daily activity immediately following the procedure.

When will I see results from EMSELLA?

This may vary depending on your age, physical condition, and many other aspects. In general, patients begin to feel tangible results right after the treatment. Positive results typically continue to improve over the next few weeks.

How long do the results last?

Nothing in life lasts forever and this will vary according to your health condition. The clinical studies show that the majority of patients are able to maintain the results 6 months after their treatment series, and can last years with continued maintenance. However, we recommend booking another consultation a few months after your treatments to see if you may benefit from any additional treatments. Keeping a healthy lifestyle is the key to maintain your results in the longer term.

How many sessions are needed?

We advise 6 sessions in total spread over 3 weeks.

How much does EMSELLA cost?

We currently have a special offer for a course of EMSELLA (6 treatments) at £900 (normally £1250!) with a free initial consultation and first treatment.
