Sunekos is an injectable skin treatment with a special combination of Hyaluronic Acid and amino acids.
This unique formulation is precisely balanced to ensure production of new collagen and elastin, improving facial volume loss, reducing wrinkles and hydrating the skin.
It can even help reduce dark circles under the eye by thickening the skin, and elastin stimulation can help reduce eye bags.
Doctor Alex performs Sunekos skin treatments in both his Manchester City Centre and Sheffield clinics.
Sunekos is made of a patented mix of hyaluronic acid and amino acids, which aims to help restore the naturally youthful look of the skin by the generation of new Extra-Cellular Matrix (ECM) stimulated by the production of new collagen and elastin.
Once injected, the product will stimulate the activity of skin fibroblasts and the synthesis of collagen and elastin, the two most important structural proteins of our skin.
This basically means it helps to restore the biological functions of the skin, improving facial volume loss, reducing wrinkles, and improving skin hydration, texture and tone.
Sunekos can be used on the face, around the eyes, for dark eye circles and eye bags, forehead, neck, decollete, and more!
As it's not a dermal filler or toxin (such as Botox or Azzalure), it's a more natural treatment, and you don't need to worry about looking "done" or over-filled, as it stimulates your own natural collagen to improve the skin.
Sunekos also has a special formulation for more mature/aged/sun damaged skin, so is suitable for all ages from late 20s onwards!
You may start to see improvement in skin hydration 10 days after the first treatment. A full Sunekos treatment consists of 4 injection sessions, each approximately 7 — 10 days apart.
Results last approximately 6 months, although individual results vary depending on genetics, lifestyle factors, etc.
Not particularly. You may feel a pinprick sensation as the skin is injected. Doctor Alex can also apply special numbing cream beforehand if you are worried about this. A micro cannula (blunt tube instead of sharp needle) is also used to administer the Sunekos to certain areas, such as the forehead, neck, and cheeks. If local anaesthetic (lidocaine) is used to numb the area, this can sting a little for a few seconds as it's being injected.
The treatment normally lasts around 15-20 minutes and at the end you can immediately resume normal activities. There is usually minimal recovery time after Sunekos treatment. Typically, you will notice some small bumps in the skin where the product has been injected, which usually disappear within hours, but can take 72 hours to completely resolve. However, whilst the procedure could be performed in your lunch break, there is a small risk of bruising or swelling to the treated areas which can develop in the hours/days afterwards, and it is therefore advisible that the treatment is performed at least 2 weeks before any event where you would not want such side effects visible.
However, if there is any bruising, it can usually be covered up by makeup after a few days.
The injection of hyaluronic acid is considered a safe medical-surgical procedure. However, as with any medical procedure, the body may respond and react in way that is not always entirely predictable, such as, for example, the formation of bruises, hematoma, herpes or bacterial infections, oedema’s, nodules, cysts and inflammation. These reactions can occur even if the medical-surgical procedure is carried out with skill, prudence and diligence.
