Does Botox hurt?

Most patients find Botox very tolerable. You might feel a small pinch during the injections, but it’s quick, and we use tiny needles to make it as comfortable as possible. If you’re particularly concerned, we can apply a numbing cream beforehand.

When will I see results?

You’ll start to notice the effects of Botox or Nuceiva within 2-7 days, and full results are usually visible by two weeks. That’s why we offer a complimentary review at that point, to ensure your results are exactly what you hoped for.

What is "preventative" Botox, and when should I start?

Preventative Botox is about reducing the chances of deep lines forming in the first place. Many patients start in their late 20s or early 30s to maintain a smoother appearance over time. It’s a great option for those looking to stay ahead of the ageing process.

What is Baby Botox?

Baby Botox involves smaller, more precise doses of Botox for a softer, more natural result. It’s ideal if you’re looking for subtle smoothing without losing any movement or expression. This technique is popular for first-time patients or those wanting a very light touch.

Can Botox look natural?

Is the treatment safe?

Yes, Botox has been used safely for over 20 years. It's highly unlikely you'll experience anything scary like allergic reaction (Dr. Alex has NEVER seen this happen with Botox or Nuceiva), and any undesired results such as asymmetry can usually be corrected with a quick tweak at review. Things like brow droop or eyelid ptosis occur in less than 1% of patients worldwide (far less than this stat at SONÜ), but all completely resolve by themselves in weeks as Botox wears off.

What can I do after my Botox treatment?

You can return to most of your daily activities straight after your treatment. However, we recommend avoiding exercise, lying down, or massaging the area for the first 24 hours to ensure the Botox stays in place.

Is there any downtime?

There’s usually no downtime after Botox or Nuceiva. Some patients experience slight redness or mild bruising at the injection sites, but this typically resolves within a day or two. Makeup can usually be applied the next day if needed.

What's the difference between Botox and Nuceiva?

They're both botulinum toxin type A treatments, so do pretty much the same thing as each other, but Nuceiva (Jeuveau in the USA) is a newer toxin on the market with more advanced manufacturing processes. We've found it lasts a little longer, gives more natural results, and is a bit more accurate. So Nuceiva is our preferred toxin, but we still love Botox too!
